Prof. T. Czachorski attended as a keynote speaker the "International Workshop on Simulation and Modelling Techniques in Science and Engineering" and Conference “The works of Srinivas Ramanujan & their Applications in Science and Engineering" at RJIT, BSF Academy, Tekanpur.
Today (23/12/2022) the evaluation of projects submitted under competition 1/1.1.1/2022 Fast Track Digital Innovations was completed. We are pleased to announce that the project submitted by Meetlify, ExploreAR: innovative interaction technology using new mechanisms for game-to-user and game-to-environment communication, combining digital and real game elements from the Augmented Reality area, has been qualified for funding. On the part of IITiS, the subcontractor in this project is a team led by Joanna Domańska.
We are happy to announce two new grants awarded to the Internet of Things Group:
- Research project related to the dependability of 5G and 6G networks under the title: " Methodology for Increasing the Dependability of Information Systems for Critical Use with a Heterogeneous Wireless Interface" within the Polonez 2 BIS programme funded by NCN, led by Viacheslav Kovtun
- Cooperation project with the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, under the title "Modelling Large Scale IoT Networks Based On Low Power Long Range (Lora) Radio" funded by NAWA Polonium programme, lead by Krzysztof Grochla.
W ramach seminarium poprowadzona zostanie druga część wykładu z zakresu automatów klasycznych i kwantowych. Po przedstawieniu kilku przykładów DFA wraz z dyskusją ich ograniczeń, wprowadzamy ich warianty probabilistyczny i kwantowy. Przedstawiamy reprezentatywny algorytm dla każdego z tych wariantów, a następnie dyskusję na temat zalet kwantowych w ustawieniach automatów skończonych. Krótko omawiamy ostatnie implementacje algorytmów QFA na rzeczywistym sprzęcie kwantowym.

Rada Klastra Q - Klastra Technologii Kwantowych accepted the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences as a member of the cluster. The tasks of Cluster Q are focused on developing the national potential inherent in quantum technologies, integrating Polish enterprises with scientific and research communities and building the future of the Polish quantum sector.
Professor Erol Gelenbe of IITIS-PAN has been awarded the high honour of "Commander of the Order of the Crown" by H. M. the King of Belgium, by Royal Decree dated 28th of October 2022. The nomination for this honour was made by the Fond National de la Recherche Scientifique which is the Belgian national research agency. The nominator was Professor Veronique Halloin, who is the current President of the European Science Foundation.
We are pleased to announce that one of our doctoral students from the Quantum Information Systems Team, Akash Kundu, working on his PhD as part of the Joint Doctoral School, has been awarded a scholarship by the JM Rector of the Silesian University of Technology for publishing in one of the best journals in the field of interdisciplinary aspects of physics and astronomy.

Professor Erol Gelenbe, of IITIS PAN is among 19 speakers at the upcoming Abu Dhabi Artificial Intelligence Summit on December 12-13, 2022. The list of speakers includes three Fields Medalists in mathematics and two Turing Prize winners in computer science. Our employee is the only invited speaker from an institution in Central Europe.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mateusz Ostaszewski, who defended his doctoral thesis at IITiS PAN in 2020, has been awarded the Witold Lipski Prize for the best young computer scientists. The award is given to young Polish computer scientists by the Kosciuszko Foundation. Dr. Ostaszewski was honored with the award in the area of applied computer science.
