The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, in consortium with co.brick, has received funding from the National Center for Research and Development for a research and development project entitled “Advanced Application Maintenance and Diagnostics Tool for IT Start-ups” (Application Number: FENG.01.01-IP.01-A0GV/24 in the FENG SMART Consortia program).
The Institute has started implementing the project: the Polish Research Infrastructure Network for AI Assisted Science. The project is being implemented under Measure 2.4 of the FENG program No. FENG.02.04-IP.04-0019/24
Narodowe Centrum Nauki przyznało finansowanie dla projektu “Od niezmienniczych kwantowych kanałów do dalekozasięgowej kwantowej komunikacji” w ramach konkursu OPUS 27. Projekt ten będzie realizowany w Instytucie w latach 2025 - 2028 pod kierunkiem dr hab. Marcina Markiewicza. Całkowita kwota dofinansowania wynosi 685 tys. zł.
Many of the differences between the quantum and classical worlds are most visible when studying measurements. For example, classical measurements are repeatable and their outcomes are objective, whereas only measurements of quantum systems which exhibit quantum Darwinism have these properties and so support the emergence of classicality. Another difference is that the outcomes of sets of classical measurements can always be described with joint probability distributions, whereas sets of quantum measurements may require quasiprobabilities.
The Institute has commenced the implementation of a project titled “Advanced Design and Production of Hybrid Filter Choke Cores for High-Speed Motors Operating at Higher Frequencies Using Numerical Analysis and Innovative Process Improvement Technologies,” as a sub-contractor of Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals. The project is co-funded under the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) Program (SMART Path, FENG.01.01-IP.01-002/23 call).
Indoor localization approaches offer solutions for detecting locations in areas where technologies such as GPS (which are successful in outdoor environments) are inadequate. In this seminar, different approaches used in indoor localization, solutions proposed using the fingerprinting technique, innovations and future trends will be discussed. The main topics to be examined include solutions based on the use of singular and hybrid technologies, the use of filters in the pre-processing stages, design of deep architectures in the classification stage, and dual band WiFi based strategies.
