Two doctoral defenses of our employees

We are pleased to inform you that two doctoral defenses of our young researchers took place last week.

On March 3, 2023, the public doctoral defense of Mateusz Żarski took place, who presented his thesis Computer Vision and Transfer Learning in Inspections of Concrete Bridge Structures prepared at under the supervision of prof. dr hab. Marek Salamak. This dissertation was prepared in the discipline of Civil Engineering and Transport at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

On March 6, at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Automatics of the Silesian University of Technology, Kamil Książek defended the thesis Optimization of deep learning network architectures for hyperspectral data classification. The dissertation was prepared in the discipline of Information and Communication
Technology under the supervision of dr hab. Eng. Przemysław Głomb from IITiS PAN and Dr. Krisztian Buza from the Jozef Stefan Institute in Lubljana.
