Accessibility Declaration

The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences undertakes to ensure accessibility in accordance with the laws:

- dated April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities (Journal of Laws 2019, item 848, as amended).

- dated July 19, 2019 on ensuring accessibility for persons with special needs (Journal of Laws 2019, item 1696).

The accessibility statement applies to the website www.iitis.pl.

Website publication date: 2016-03-30.

Date of last significant update: 2023-04-05.

The website is partially compliant with the law of April 4, 2019 on digital accessibility of public entities' websites and mobile applications.

1.         Compatibility: the service is recognizable by reading programs for the blind.

2.         Operation of the service is possible through peripheral devices such as keyboard and mouse independently.

3.         Keyboard shortcuts: you can use standard browser keyboard shortcuts on the website.

Incompatibilities or exclusions:

1.         Maps are exempted from adaptation to the requirements of the Law of 04.04.2019.

2.        Some non-text elements lack alternative texts.

There may be situations where, despite the efforts of the Institute, certain documents published on the site are not available due to the fact that:

- come from a variety of sources,
- published were based on rules adopted at another institution,
- published before the Digital Accessibility Law came into effect.

 

Architectural and information and communication accessibility:

The characteristics of the building taking into account the minimum requirements of architectural accessibility in accordance with Article 6 of the Law of is July 19, 2019 on ensuring accessibility for persons with special needs.

Location and access:

The building is located at 5 Baltycka St. The main entrance is from the street.

The institute is located 400 m from the bus stop Gliwice Sowinskiego and 450 m from the bus stop Wojtowa Wies Dolna Wies.

Accessibility of the entrance, elevators, stairs, rooms and passing through the control area:

The entrance to the building is adapted for wheelchair users. Persons entering the building are verified at the gatehouse. The facility is protected 24 hours a day.

The building uses architectural solutions that allow access to all rooms, with the exception of technical rooms.

Accessible wheelchair ramp to the building.

Elevator suitable for transporting people with disabilities.

Communication spaces free of vertical and horizontal barriers.

The evacuation of people with special needs is based on the support provided by functional persons designated for evacuation on each floor of the building.

Parking availability

Parking available in front of the building. No separate space for the disabled.

Admission with assistance dog

The institute provides access to buildings for people using an assistance dog.

Possibility to use a sign language interpreter on site or online

Deaf persons may be assisted by an employee who knows sign language or an interpreter. Willingness to use an interpreter should be reported by phone at +48 32 2317319 or by e-mail (office@iitis.pl) 3 days in advance.

The institute provides information on the layout of rooms in the building by voice.

Anyone has the right to request that a website or an element of it be made accessible. It is also possible to request that the information be made accessible by an alternative means of access, for example, by reading an illegible document, describing the contents of a film without an audio description, etc. The request should include the details of the person making the request, an indication of which element of the website he or she is concerned about, and a method of contact. If the person making the request indicates the need to receive information by an alternative means of access, he should also specify a convenient way of presenting the information.
 The public entity should implement the request immediately, no later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public entity shall immediately inform the requester when it will be possible to fulfill the request, but the deadline shall not be longer than 2 months from the date of the request. If it is not possible to provide digital accessibility, the public entity may propose an alternative way to access the information.
 If the public entity refuses to comply with the request to provide accessibility or an alternative way of accessing the information, the requester may file a complaint about the provision of digital accessibility of the website or its component. After exhausting the procedure indicated above, a request may also be made to the Ombudsman.
