Professor Erol Gelenbe of IITIS-PAN has been awarded the Cross of Officer of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, by the President of Poland, as proposed by the Polish Academy of Sciences.  It is awarded to foreigners and Polish citizens permanently residing abroad who, through their activities, have made an outstanding contribution to international cooperation and cooperation connecting the Republic of Poland with other countries and nations.
